On November 2, 2017, at the regularly scheduled November Board meeting, the Sharon Township Board unanimously approved a Resolution OPPOSING the upcoming WASHTENAW COUNTY COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH AND PUBLIC SAFETY PRESERVATION MILLAGE also known as PROPOSAL 1.
“By Resolution the Sharon Township Board of Trustees opposes the ‘Washtenaw County Community Mental Health and Public Safety Preservation Millage’ also known as Proposal 1 on the November 7. 2017 ballot. The Board believes this proposal will take funds from Sharon Township tax payers and distribute them to other municipalities for services that Sharon Township tax payers will not directly benefit from.”

The Sharon Township Board encourages tax payers to read Proposal 1 to see the full breakdown of how monies collected from the millage would be distributed. The Proposal will show disbursement plans of monies/services going to other municipalities throughout the County with no monies/services coming back to Sharon Township directly.
